“When I first began working with Paul many things I was committed to doing felt heavy and overwhelming. A few months later I find myself with new responsibilities, but no longer feeling overwhelmed…..

“When I first began working with Paul many things I was committed to doing felt heavy and overwhelming. A few months later I find myself with new responsibilities, but no longer feeling overwhelmed. The gap between reactive and proactive work is decreasing and I’m slowly learning how to bring fresh clarity to my work and find it more of a gift and less of a burden. The monthly session spent working together has a much bigger impact on the rest of the month. I’m learning new skills and a different mindset which is enabling me to practice my ministry from a place of rest.”

— Father Louis Darrant, Chaplain, St George’s Málaga, Area Dean of Southern Spain

“At a certain point, I realised that my ministry was undergoing a transition. I knew I needed new skills and to re-visit some old skills that hadn't been used in a while. The  conversations with Paul have been key to this learning. Paul listens with openness and responds with loving honesty. Paul challenged me to identify the resources that I already have to meet the task at hand, and generously offered stories from his own experience in ministry. Paul's coaching is not a set of instructions telling me what to do. The conversations simply help to frame the issues and create a plan for the next steps. At the end of each conversation I feel better equipped for my ministry with energy and passion.”

— Canon Stephen Murray, Chaplain Ghent, Area Dean

“Paul is a great listener and has been a source of wisdom and constructive guidance for me based on his rich experience of parish life…

“It has been great to work with Paul as coach and consultant from the early days of starting in a new chaplaincy. I have really valued the opportunity to discuss and work through with him a range of matters including strategic planning, building up a leadership team and change management including the transition from lockdown to full participation in church again in the aftermath of Covid19. This has significantly helped me to settle in and develop my role as Chaplain.

Paul is a great listener and has been a source of wisdom and constructive guidance for me based on his rich experience of parish life. I have found it extremely helpful to be able to discuss with him many of the different issues which arise in chaplaincy life. He has enabled me to think through these clearly and to work out practical ways of addressing them, often providing me with examples and templates of relevant materials.”

— Canon Dr Daphne Green, Chaplain Holy Trinity Geneva

“THE overall well-being of the clergy has declined since 2019, but could be improved through stronger relationships of accountability, the third wave of the ten-year study Living Ministry suggests.”

“Paul has a real gift of connection. Our sessions are always positive and focused on getting the best out of where I am and where I want to go.

Paul is a warm and wonderful guiding force and has a terrific sense of humour. Laughing about the difficulties really helps to keep the sessions engaging and motivating. And knowing that our next session will be an open and easy conversation takes the stress out of returning. Even when I’ve had a difficult week or feel like I haven’t made any progress on the goal, I always leave the sessions feeling calm, confident and loved.

Coaching reminds me that I am strong and capable; all it takes is a focus and a direction to change my thinking about a situation or take steps to try something new. It has been essential to my wellbeing in that I feel that I have a trusted partner – someone who hold no judgements and won’t influence me but will help me navigate through a difficulty in my life. It has really been a blessing in my life!”

I was coping with a burn-out at work. The conversation with Paul regarding my work situation has been very helpful. I could see everything better in perspective and with more clarity.

It also helped me to reflect on my own position and attitudes. It gave me various handles on how to approach the people around me. Coaching has given me greater confidence and has been very insightful. It has helped me to strike the right tone for the important conversations that are now taking place.”

“My experience with your coaching came at an opportune time and from the start I have only positive feedback. After working many years at the same job, it was clear to me that I needed and wanted a new challenge. From the first day that we sat down to talk, I felt totally at ease and comfortable discussing the reasons and lead-up to my decision. You listened with great attention and I found that your ability to highlight and retain the important details of why I wanted to make a change most helpful - thus providing clarity and focus enabling my next steps.

Your positive feedback and very concrete suggestions were insightful and invaluable. It can be a daunting task to go through a career change; but with your direct and encouraging manner, you taught me how to focus on my strengths and know that the best was to come. I am supremely grateful.”

Finding Clarity and Strength for Your Journey

“We must have some room to breathe. We need freedom to think and permission to heal. Our relationships are being starved to death by velocity. No one has the time to listen, let alone love”
